Founded by Grandmaster Robert Cutrell in 1996, ChunJiDo International is one of the world's most prestigious martial arts organizations. Originally developed as the governing body for the art of ChunJiDo, the organization has now grown to include the global practitioners of ChunJiDo and affiliates in 5 continents and over 30 countries! ChunJiDo International is committed to providing the highest quality of physical and mental martial arts & self-defense training through the art of ChunJiDo, and affiliation with a worldwide family of diverse martial arts systems from around the globe.

Grandmaster Robert Cutrell has produced multiple local, national, and world champions. He has given seminars all over the world and has 9 world-wide Hall of Fame honors. ChunJiDo International was recently named "Martial Arts Organization of the Year" by the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

Grandmaster Robert Cutrell is the Founder of the art of ChunJiDo and the ChunJiDo International Martial Arts Organization. Grandmaster Cutrell has been recognized as one of the top self-defense experts in the world.
He is a multiple Hall of Fame inductee and was recently inducted into the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame, martial art’s largest and most prestigious hall of fame, for his “Outstanding Contribution to the Arts.”
In addition to being recognized as the Soke of the art of ChunJiDo, Grandmaster Cutrell is also recognized by many world organizations including the WOMA/ World Head Soke Council of Japan.
Grandmaster Cutrell is USA Vice-President of the Simmey-Do Karate Federation, a Grandmaster in the Martial Arts Council of Elders, a member of the international Grandmasters’ Society, the United States Martial Arts Association, and many other highly respected martial arts organizations from around the world.
In 2008 Grandmaster Cutrell was prominently featured in a stamp treasury album published by the Chinese government in commemoration of the martial arts during the Beijing Olympics. The book contains pictures of 650 of the most prominent martial artists in the world, and Grandmaster Cutrell was selected as one of the representatives from the USA.
Master Heather Coffman
Welcome! I am Master Heather Coffman, owner and instructor of Coffman's Martial Arts Academy. I am excited to be able to share my knowledge and love of ChunJiDo and Tae Kwon-Do with others. I am currently studying under ChunJiDo founder O'Sensei Robert Cutrell and am the Soke Dai (Inheritor) of ChunJiDo and ChunJiDo International.
I have been training in the martial arts for 20 years. In that time, I have earned a 6th degree black belt in Tae Kwon-Do and a 3rd degree black belt in ChunJido. During my time in martial arts, I have had the honor of receiving "Instructor of the Year" through the Illinois Taekwondo Association in 2012. I have also received "Master of the Year" in 2022 and Distinguished Female Master of the Year" in 2024, both through the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame. In 2024, I won two Gold Medals at the ISKA US Open World Championships in Orlando, FL. That same year, I won Two Gold Medals and two Silver Medals at the WKU World Championships in Rhodes, Greece.
My passion for martial arts and teaching others drove me to open Coffman's Martial Arts in 2011, and it is now the largest martial arts school in Southern Illinois. At Coffman's Martial Arts Academy, we view each student as a member of the family. With that said, we desire commitment, a hard work ethic, and a strong will to succeed. Through training, each student is taught our 5 tenants: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. We will strive to help each one of our students achieve success as they mature in the arts.
